Cashback cards are planned
Cashback returns a percentage of each purchase as a euro balance to spend next time. Stampaki doesn't hold euro balances today; points cards with voucher rewards are the closest equivalent.
Why businesses ask for cashback
It's instantly understood
"5% back" needs no explanation.
It rewards spend fairly
Like points, value scales with the basket.
It brings customers back to spend it
An unspent balance is a reason to return.
How we're thinking about it
A cashback balance has accounting and, in some cases, regulatory implications that points don't. We'll only ship it with clear rules for expiry, refunds and reporting. No date is committed.
- Euro balance from a % of spend
- Spend on later visits
- Requires clear accounting rules
What to use today
A points card: €1 = 1 point, with a €5 voucher at 100 points, behaves like 5% back.
Typical cashback scenarios
Retail
5% back on every purchase.
Cafés
Small balance that covers the next coffee.
Frequently asked questions
Can I approximate cashback today?
Yes: a points card at €1 = 1 point with a €5 voucher at 100 points works like 5% back, without holding a euro balance.
Will cashback be stored value?
We haven't decided the final design. We won't describe it as stored value until it's built and validated.
